Signalion introduces TD-LTE Test UE for infrastructure testing at Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona
Dresden, Germany:
3GPP-LTE (Long Term Evolution) again will be the major topic of this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Signalion, as a member of the LTE/SAE Trial Initiative (LSTI) continues to support 3GPP evolution by providing cutting-edge LTE test technology.
The company introduced its SORBAS FDD LTE Test-UE platform at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last year. This year the company will officially launch its SORBAS TDD LTE Test-UE platform for TD-LTE infrastructure testing.
Signalion will demonstrate a TD-LTE transmission via a Sorbas Test-UE and an eNB. In this live demonstration, Alcatel-Lucent will provide the TD-LTE infrastructure equipment and Signalion will provide the TD-LTE test UE. In 2H2008, Alcatel-Lucent and Signalion completed TD-LTE test calls with Signalion’s Sorbas Test-UE. This was the first TD-LTE call realized between a TD-LTE eNB and a Test-UE.
In joint activities with other test equipment providers, Signalion will demonstrate IOT between eNB simulators and the Sorbas Test-UE. These demonstrations will show how Signalion conducts interoperability test (IOT) sessions with partners such as Rohde & Schwarz. These tests are used to verify compliance with the current status of LTE standardization.
“Last year we saw demonstration of FDD-LTE by many companies. We expect this year’s Mobile World Congress to boost TD-LTE to a similar stage” said Matthias Stege Head of Marketing of Signalion. “Signalion is very well prepared for the TD evolution by having already delivered TD-LTE test systems to our initial customers.”
