The ecosystem for the Chinese variant of LTE is growing: Rohde & Schwarz and Signalion completed first interoperability tests of their TD-LTE test platforms
Munich/Dresden:
Rohde & Schwarz and Signalion announced today the completion of a first series of interoperability tests (IOT) sessions for their TD-LTE test equipment R&S® CMW500 and SORBAS. These tests are used by both companies to verify their compliance with the current status of TD-LTE specification.
LTE TDD (Long Term Evolution Time Division Duplex) also known as TD-LTE, is part of the 3GPP specifications for the next generation cellular technology. In China, TD-LTE will be an evolution from TD-SCDMA serving the asymmetric needs of mobile data usage by allowing the use of unpaired spectrum.
With the SORBAS product series Signalion provides a powerful and scalable test platform that supports functional and load testing of the TD-LTE Radio Access Network (eNodeB).
“Our aim is to provide a reference test system that enables our customers to ensure 3GPP compliance of their implementations. It is therefore vital to ensure interoperability between test equipment from different vendors securing fast and smooth TD-LTE product development for our customers”, says Dr. Matthias Stege, Head of Marketing at Signalion.
The Rohde & Schwarz R&S® CMW500 is a powerful multi technology test platform for various cellular, broadcast and connectitvity standards such as LTE FDD/TDD, Mobile WiMAXTM, WCDMA, GSM, DVB, WLAN and Bluetooth. R&S CMW 500 is typically used in R&D, conformance test and production of wireless devices.
